Social history books As the author of three non-fiction social history books, I am passionate about history in all its forms, including family history and local history.  My books include Christmas Cards (Shire, 1999), Life in the Victorian and Edwardian Workhouse (Tempus, April 2007) and Prison Life in Victorian England (Tempus, November 2007). “Daily life…is recounted in this book with both historical detail and sympathy, aided in both aspects by numerous first-person accounts and many specific details from workhouses around the country.”  Your Family Tree
