More writing news...

I’m a freelance feature writer, copywriter and author based in the West Midlands, not far from Birmingham.

The scope of my writing is very broad, including business-related copywriting, features and articles for magazines, and researching and writing a growing number of books with a social history theme.
Feel free to browse my website.  Here you can find out more about me and my freelance writing, look at examples of my features and articles, read about my social history books and buy them in the shop.  You can also catch up with my news on recent writing projects and read my weekly blog.
Please contact me if you have any feedback or queries about my writing or this website, or if you would like to commission me for a writing project.  I’d love to hear from you!
Feature writing

I write magazine features and articles for a wide variety of publications including Period HouseBBC Who Do You Think You Are? and Discover My Past.  I specialise in writing about history and heritage, homes and interiors, education, the environment and children’s reference.

"Michelle researched and wrote our 150th anniversary publication in collaboration with our editorial team. Her work was of a high standard, on time and to budget, and I would be happy to recommend her research, writing and editorial skills to anyone."
Caroline Moye, Head of Marketing, Independent Age

I also undertake copywriting for small businesses and individuals.  I write mailers, press releases, brochures and websites for projects large and small.  I pride myself on being able to tailor my writing to specific audiences, on time and within budget.

"Michelle has developed website copy for many of Arrowsmith Marketing's clients.  I can rely on her to produce content that suits the customer's industry and style of business, quickly and effectively."

Gareth Edwards, Director, Arrowsmith Marketing
